Calling all Warwickshire veteran badminton players over the age of 40!
Would you like to represent Warwickshire in the Masters Badminton Leagues? If so, please read on.
For those people who may or may not be aware, Warwickshire will be playing in the following age categories for the forthcoming 2013-2014 season – : over 40, over 45, over 50 and over 60.
We are still looking for players who fit the age criteria and want to play. You will need to be playing for a club side and of a reasonable standard of play. The matches will take place on Sundays from October to March.
There will be two practice sessions before the start of the season which will take place on two Sundays in September and I will notify details by the website nearer the time.
Anyone who wishes to be considered for any of the sides are welcome to attend any of the practice sessions but if you cannot make them then please let me know.
Please contact me: David Wilson on 0121-326-9736 or my email firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.

Local badminton is in mourning for popular player and coach, Elaine Slater who sadly passed away at the end of June. Elaine, along with husband Chris, was a player with WBC for many years and, more recently, with Monsoon. Her two sons are members of the Racqueteers junior club where, such was her enthusiasm for badminton she took her Level 2 coaching qualification and became a popular member of the club’s coaching team. She will also be remembered by the young players at Alveston Juniors (where she helped that club set up a new weekly session in Leamington in 2011) and at her after school sessions at Priorsfield primary school and Kings High, Warwick. Always smiling and willing to help players, she will be sadly missed by us all.
The funeral service is at St John Vianney RC church, Bishopton Close CV5 7GW at 11.45am Monday 8th July
