Please be aware that when submitting match cards for the rest of the season you will receive an out of office message from my mailbox – there is no need to resend as I will still be accessing mails and you will receive a confirmation email from me when I have received your match card.
We are looking for people to represent the county at badminton in the Masters County Championships for the forthcoming season and beyond. Anyone over the age of 40 is classed as a “Master” and you do not necessarily have to have represented the county at an earlier age to be considered for a team. If you are playing at a reasonable club level standard we would be happy to hear from you.
Masters teams compete in age groups for the over 40’s, 45’s, 50’s, 55’s, 60’s and 65’s.
Presently we are very short of players (particularly ladies) in the over 40’s and 55’s and unfortunately don’t have enough players to submit teams for those two age groups this season. We really want to put this right for next season.
We also need others to come forward for teams in the other age groups so we can build up the squads and have cover for the inevitable injuries that seem to occur once you reach a certain age!!
A couple of practice sessions have been arranged for the existing squads on Sunday 20th and Sunday 27th September. If you are interested in coming along and for further details for venue etc. can you please email John Brown at :-
Unfortunately this year’s CET Cup has been cancelled due to lack of entries.!
The CBA Presentation Dinner Dance is to be held on Friday May 16th, ticket price is £14 for a 2 course meal and disco. Please get your numbers sorted and contact Martin Wheatley regarding booking places and payment. Full details have been sent out to all club secretaries.
Please remember to get all trophies returned, cleaned and polished, to any committee member as a matter of top priority so that they can be engraved before the presentation evening.
Two events to be aware of –
April 13th CET Cup, get your team in to Seaforth.
May 16th CBA Presentation evening, price etc to follow shortly. So start getting your club organised to attend.
Due to a shortage of entries, caused possibly by a conflict with Mother’s Day, the CET Cup has now been moved to Sunday April 13th.
This hopefully will mean that more teams can be put together so that we can have as successful a tournament as last year.
To enter your team please complete your entry form and send to Seaforth as soon as possible.
